About Prins Hendrik
Eetcafe Prins Hendrik is named after Prince Hendrik, husband of Queen Wilhelmina. Prince Hendrik was born on April 19, 1876 as Heinrich, the fourth child of Friedrich Franz II von Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Heinrich and Wilhelmina were related. The Russian Tsar Paul I and his wife Maria were their common ancestors. The arranged marriage took place on February 7, 1900. Daughter Juliana was born on April 30, 1909. Prince Hendrik was known for his many extramarital escapades. He died on July 3, 1934 in The Hague.
